We are thrilled to have in our Ibiza vacation rental portfolio a beautiful apartment at Las Boas – a masterpiece of architecture by French archistar Jean Nouvel.
The building takes its name from its sinuous twist of primary colors, a shape that recalls a feather Boa, the quintessential party accessory that best embodies the hedonism Ibiza is famous for.
The island’s glamour is celebrated in the architecture’s splashes and swirls of bright colors, which rise up in tiers of sexy, sensual curves that draw the eye around, giving a sense of freedom and a chance for unexpected visual connections.
The colored piping around every balcony is another nod towards the feather boa’s inspiration and a play on the islands penchant for the theatrical. In fact, Las Boas has an amphitheater shape whose stage is the island itself, particularly the fantastic views on the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ibiza Old Town and the island of Formentera.
Ibiza’s natural beauty is incorporated in the building through a visual and structural continuum that begins with the vegetation waterfall linked to the large pool facing the Mediterranean sea.
Frequent in Nouvel’s architecture is the use of natural light and elements of vegetation that aim at establishing a connection between natural and artificial. Accordingly, the shape of the building itself is also inspired by the semicircular Ibicencan “calanques.”
There is literally nothing that hasn’t been thought of in the making of this luxury living space. Foremost botanist Patrick Blanc, lighting artist Yann Kersale and painter Alain Bony have also gathered to deliver a unique experience on every level.
In Nouvel’s words: “…it is a property designed just like a theater: the stage is the port and the citadel the decor. This structure allows all the apartments to have a direct view over the sea.”
Located right on the sea front, the complex is ideally nestled between the island’s top clubs and restaurants including Pacha, Lio Cabaret, Cipriani, La Bomba and Blue Marlin. In the foreground is Marina Botafoch, the preferred anchoring spot for some of the island’s most exclusive visitors during the season.
This incredible location combined with this dreamy architecture make the residential complex one of Ibiza’s most iconic images.
Our “Ibiza Glam” is a 2-bedroom apartment that – like the other units in Las Boas – has a fluid structure where the different ambiences smoothly flow into one another via curved walls, hidden compartments and a smart use of the space. Some furniture, like the modular sofa the dining table and the beds are designed by renowned firms Molteni, Cassina and Edra. Out on the balcony the view is breathtaking: by day, the bright blue sky provides the perfect backdrop for the marina, with all its luxury yachts, and a panorama of the bay and Ibiza Town. At night, stunning projections illuminate the water, filling the central stage of the building.
The communal areas include the huge infinity pool, a cinema, a spa, kids play area and additional hang out spots.
